For Ms. DiPalma the bakery business was a natural choice. Her passion for baking is deeply rooted in three generations of DiPalma family lineage, her paternal grandparents both having worked in bakeries – or “paneterrias” – in Naples, Italy before emigrating to America. Continuing in the tradition, Pamela’s mother Ida is a devoted baker, with a love of baking for neighbors, family and friends. The DiPalma household is filled daily with the wonderful aroma of fresh baked breads & pastries, especially at holiday time.
In 2013 several noteworthy events occurred, propelling Gino’s brand forward. First, the bakery’s location changed from it’s original North Buffalo location on historic Hertel Avenue, to nearby Kenmore Ave. at the corner of Colvin Avenue. This new location, complete with ample off-street parking, expanded Gino’s operations exponentially, the much larger space allowing for immediate business growth opportunities and an increase in capabilities. In addition, our Italian cookies and pastries began to receive rightful acclaim in newspaper and magazine articles alike. Gino’s Bakery was awarded 1st place in an independent taste testing of Italian cookies for both our Cuccidiati (fig) and Giguleni (sesame seed) cookies! Gino’s famous Italian cookies are now being sold in grocery stores and markets throughout New York State – and as far away as Texas.
Whether your favorite Italian desserts are cookies, cartocci, pasticiotti, cannolis or cassata cake, Gino’s Famous Bakery is the brand for you. Our commitment and passion is treating our fans to the authentic taste of “Old World” Italy in each & every bite!
Gino’s Italian Bakery has been serving WNY and the surrounding communities for more than 40 years. Ms. DiPalma has emphasized the return to a more “old world” product line. The introduction of new variety of Italian cookies, derived from traditional DiPalma family recipes, continue to be a huge success with patrons.
